The Indian Nursing Council has taken giant strides and revised the syllabus for all nursing programmes. As well, it is observed that there is dearth of Indian textbooks for students’ reference based on new syllabus. The foreign textbooks do not adequately represent Indian cultural and demographic scenarios. Hence, it was the felt need of Nurse Educators, Students and the Council to write the nursing textbooks.
In this connection, the council invites application from suitable faculty members in the prescribed format (Annexure -1) to author the textbooks for nursing students. The eligibility criteria for authors can be referred from Annexure – 2.
Kindly forward the duly filled in application forms from the eligible faculty of your institution on or before 19th March 2009.
The Council’s decision shall be final in the selection of authors.

Annexure 2 – Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc (N), Post Basic B.Sc (N) & Post Graduate
Diploma in Nursing textbooks
-
The faculty should be qualified with M.Sc (N) degree course. Ph.D qualification is desirable. R.N/R.M and additional qualification registration with this council is mandatory.

The faculty should have completed 10 years of teaching experience as on 30th March 2009.

The faculty must be currently working in India in any of the recognized school/college recognized by the State Nursing Council.
-
A minimum of 5 publications authored by the concerned faculty in the registered journals to be submitted along with the copy of the published articles.

A minimum of 5 scientific/research papers presented in the National & International Conference is mandatory. Copies of the certificates need to be enclosed.
