Vellore is 130 kms west of Chennai on the Bangalore highway and is well connected by road and rail.  For those traveling by train, the station to arrive at is Katpadi, which is on the Chennai to Bangalore or Coimbatore line.  Frequent bus services connect major towns in the region (Chennai, Chittoor, Bangalore, Salem and Trichy) to Vellore.

The town campus of the college is located at the center of Vellore town and is six kilometers south from the Katpadi Railway Station.  This campus houses the main Hospital, College of Nursing and the Nursing students’ hostel as well as the clinical training facilities for all the courses.

Situated 7 kms south of the main hospital, the Medical College campus is set in a green, quiet and serene 200 acre site.  The grey granite buildings of the College and Chapel date back to 1932.  Classrooms and laboratories for pre-clinical students are on this campus.  A majority of the faculty also stay in this campus.  This campus can be reached by taking the town buses number 1 or 2, going towards Bagayam.  Auto – rickshaws and town buses are available from Katpadi Railway junction and Vellore Bus stand to both campuses.  There are numerous commercial boarding and lodging facilities around the town campus, where accommodation may be available.
