Ganga hospital situated in Mettupalayam road middle of the city  and serving  in the people for the past 30years. They are not only  doing service to the people they wants  to give nursing training and high education to provide qualitative nursing care to the  patients

The purposes of the Nursing Program are to:

1.  Prepare general nurses to function as members of the healthcare team in first level positions in either the hospital or community.

2.  Prepare addition nurses for careers in Hospitals.

3. Provide educational opportunities for deserving young women, giving them professional skills resulting in socio-economic uplift.

We have student nurses association of India   SNA meeting is Conducted once in a month. Students participate in all the Co- curricular Activities. Our students also participate in conferences, sports activities, Medical camps, Blood bank camp, Eye camp, Gynaecology camp. They gain Adequate knowledge by attending these camps. They also educate the public regarding the prevention of diseases and treatment.

Ganga  hospital is a well established  450 bedded hospital  situated in the centre of the city of Coimbatore and catering the needs of the public from 1978. In July 1991  this hospital was converted into specialty centre for Trauma, Orthopedics, Plastic and micro surgery. Apart from road traffic accidents, Coimbatore   being an industrial  town with industrial accident. The number of trauma  patients  requiring sophisticated  treatment is as the increase in this town possess a well equipped   intensive care unit  with well trained personnel  available for 24 hrs . A well equipped ambulance  provides free service to  the accident victims to any hospital of their choice  from the site  of accident .

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

Ganga  hospital is recognized for post graduate training in orthopedics for the Dip. NB degree course . It is specialized centre for  micro vascular  surgery . Surgeons from  all  over India  come for   specialized “Hands On” Training programme,  specialty  training  in the field of spine surgery – a course for two years and one year course on orthopedic  technician   course  is also available.

OPERATION THEATRES

There are seventeen operation theaters  equipped with modern instrumentation  and imaging systems . An adequate inventory of the various orthopedic implants is being maintained in the theatre to ensure continuous contact of surgeries, joint replacement advanced spine and trauma surgeries well equipped post operative wards separately for various specialties and high-tech intensive care unit for trauma and neuro – surgery patients  with  round the clock staff coverage. There are general ward, AB ward, C class, Executive Suite etc.,

The general wards can house up to 25 patients each and has a separate wards for female patients . There is blood bank facilities component separation & storage of blood products there is radiology department acquired a multi slice CT that has minimized whole body scanning to a few minutes a 1.5 Tesla MRI and an ultra found unit.

FUNCTIONS OF THE HOSPITAL

Ganga Hospital has developed from 17 bedded to 450 bedded Hospital. It has 2 separate units namely, General unit and Super Specialty unit.

The General unit has 150 beds, which have been allotted to the different departments namely:-

Medical Department   -   50 Beds

Surgical Department -  50 Beds

Obstetrics and Gynaecology  -   25 Beds

Paediatrics   - 25 Beds         

The Super Specialty Unit has 350 beds as follows:-

Orthopaedic Department  -  120 Beds

Plastic Hand & Microsurgery -   135 Beds

Neurology Department -  30 Beds

Ear Nose Throat Department  -  15 Beds

Medical department provides treatment for both outpatients and inpatient like Cardiac, Respiratory, and Gastrointestinal cases.

The surgical department has well equipped operation theatres with advanced imaging system, Scan & MRI. Major and Minor Surgeries are being done.

Obstetrics & Gynaecological department has 25 beds exclusively for Antenatal, Intranatal, Postnatal and follow up care with separate Outpatient & Impatient wards and also has a family welfare clinic.

A Paediatric department has 25 beds, conducts both out patient medical and impatient medical & surgical care. Immunization and well baby clinic is also being done, and neonatal intensive care unit is well equipped.

In super specialty unit the Orthopaedic and Plastic department performs surgery such as,

Mess : We have own mess  run by the managing trustee  provide a nutrient  food. Separate kitchen  for cooking , storage , washing facilities. Menu prepared for a week & food  distributed according to the menu. Monthly mess fees paid by the students. Monthly we conducting the mess meeting  and there is mess committee also for the welfare of the students. A Separate dining hall with table & chairs, water & washing facilities for available.
