Health care is the utmost need for all the ages of the Community.  World over the demand for the Health care personnel are on the increase.  To take care of such a system whether small or big, trained personnel are essential.

The VKK Hospital and Medical Research Centre Private Limited, Pudukkottai an organization in offering medical services to community realized that it should offer a course for Nurses for giving out trained Nurses to Health Care System.  Hence it dedicated its service to open an Institute of Nursing in the name of J.J. Institute of Nursing in Pudukkottai itself.

It obtained the permission of Government of Tamilnadu as per  G.O. Ms. No. 935 dated 24.06.1993 to start J.J. Institute of Nursing offering the Three Year Diploma course in General Nursing and Midwifery.  The Institute was inaugurated on 21.01.1995.  Subsequently Tamilnadu Nursing Council also granted the permission and approved the institute to offer the Diploma Course for women with student strength of 20.

Now VKK Hospital and Medical Research Centre Private Limited handed over the management of J.J. Institute of Nursing to Karpaga Vinayaga Educational Trust, Pudukkottai.  This Trust has further made the Institute more popular among the public.  To meet the demand of the public, it increased the  intake of students from 20 to 40 from 2006 – 2007 onwards with the permission of Government of Tamilnadu (GO Ms. No. 242 dated 29.09.2006) and the Tamlnadu Nursing Council (NO20 / NC / 2006 dated 31.10.2006)
