MGMC & RI is located in Puducherry (formerly known as Pondicherry), South India. This thriving establishment is the brainchild of Mr. M.K. Rajagopalan, Chairman, Sri Balaji Educational and Charitable Public Trust.  He is an enterprising and dynamic entrepreneur endowed with the keen sense of perception and driven by a desire to expand the frontiers of Medical and Nursing services and education.

MGMC & RI offers secondary and tertiary level healthcare to patients from a vide, expanding catchment area covering Puducherry and Tamil Nadu.  The MGMC & RI campus, also houses the Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences and the Kasturba Gandhi Nursing College.

The birth of MGMC & RI dates back to February 2001, when the foundation stone was laid by the (late) Mr. M.V. Krishanmoorthy Iyer, the revered father of our respected Chairman.  Over the last seven years, MGMC & RI has evolved at a phenomenal pace and has steadily upgraded itself in accordance with the norms of the Medical Council of India and the Pondicherry University.  Progress has been steady and broad-based, encompassing outpatient and inpatient services, laboratory equipment and diagnostic facilities, pedagogic infrastructure and research facilities.

The Kasturba Gandhi Nursing College (KGNC) was establishment on 6-10-2003, as a part of Sri Balaji Educational and Charitable Public Trust services.  This motto of KGNC is “Service with Dedication”.  This college renders quality care to the general public through hospital and community services.  This institution imparts high quality professional education to aspiring candidates who have dedicated themselves to the nursing profession.  Students are trained to provide comprehensive nursing care, that encompasses promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services to the needy.
