PHILOSOPHY & OBJECTIVES:
The Faculty of Nursing started B.Sc. (Nursing) course in 2005 with the annual intake of 50 students. The purpose to start the course is provided a better foothold for the students of today to face the future. To succeed in this material world one must need more than just academics.
The Faculty of Nursing believes that the basic degree course in Nursing is a formal educational preparation, which is based on strong educational principles. We recognize it as the foundation on which the practice of Nursing is limit and on which the future nursing professional education depends. We also believe that we should be responsible to the student society for the continuous development as a student, as an individual, as a citizen and as well as a nurse. We believe that the selection of the student should be consistent with the polices of the Faculty and criteria lay down by the Indian Nursing Council.
The Management and Faculty of Nursing provide a conducive environment for healthy learning and practice.
Nursing practice is a direct service, goal oriented and adaptable to the needs of the individual family and community during health and illness.
The nursing profession is totally based on clear understanding of basic scientific principles and influenced by the advances both in theory and practice, which takes place in science and technology on day-to-day basis.
The Teaching Staff Members of Nursing recognize the need for an all-round development of our students to take up the responsibilities in various levels of nursing profession in future. They also try to develop a scientific and research attitude in the minds of the students and an ability to meet the challenges put forth in the present nursing profession.
We believe that the nursing students need to develop good communication skills. It is easy to understand and communicate in local dialect but it is very much essential that dealing with national and international community, the student must be sound in English Language. Keeping this in mind the Management has set a Language Lab apart from the curriculum to develop the students in English and thereby make communication easy.
Objectives:
- To provide promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitation services to population in the hospital and community.
- To emphasize strong curriculum base by following strict discipline and punctuality
- To give stress on preparing the students to work effectively in the national and international levels
- To prepare quality nurses who will be able to take up managerial functions with good leadership qualities
- To bring about all round development of the students by giving concentration to all the dimensions
