Laboratories Facilities

The college has well equipped laboratories to train students as per the norms of Indian Nursing Council and the Statutes of the TN Dr. MGR Medical University. Advanced comprehensive education enables the students to be trained with modern equipment at our state-of-the-art laboratories. All the laboratories are well lighted, ventilated and spacious. They have the facilities to provide simulation in learning. It has got adequate furniture, equipments, surgical instruments, rubber and plastic goods, charts and models. The students will receive rich experience by handling, and performing procedures in dummy under supervision before they perform on the patients.
Nursing Foundation Lab

This lab is equipped with all the instruments and advanced manikins to train the students in basic nursing skill. It is a place where the students get familiarized with the equipments, and instruments before they proceed into clinical postings. In the lab, our faculty members demonstrate all the procedures in dummies and also supervise the students during return demonstration. Initial practice on dummies, makes the students feel confident when they do it on patients.

Nursing Foundation Lab	Nutrition Lab

Nutrition Lab
The learning of the basic concept of Nutrition is facilitated by providing hands on practical experience in our nutrition lab. The Nutritionist and Dietician demonstrate preparation of different types of diet. The well equipped nutrition lab has all kitchen utensils to train the students in nutrition and diet therapy and promotes highest skill attainment.
Maternal & Child Health Lab

The stages of normal growth and development of a child is taught to the students in our Paediatric Lab. The importance of play, various play materials and play methods for children of different age groups is also taught by practical methods.  The paediatric dummy facilitates the students to learn and practice various paediatric procedures. Our lab is equipped with various instruments which are used for normal delivery, forceps delivery, and for caesarean section. The dummy in the MCH Lab helps the students to learn the mechanism of labour.

Community Health Nursing Lab

We are living in a global community. MIOT College of Nursing aims at preparing nurses to provide competent care as per the cultural background.  It possesses all the records and equipments to prepare the students to work in community. It also has all A.V. Aids including puppets for the students to handle and utilize it in the community in conducting health education programme.
Anatomy and Physiology Lab

It has two skeletons, and all other loose bones. It also has models, specimens and charts. The students are encouraged to use our Anatomy Lab to learn Anatomy of bones and joints and other systems.

Computer Lab
It is well equipped with latest model of advanced version of  computers. Round the clock net working and online facilities are available.
Transport Facilities
Buses and vans are available for the students to attend clinical postings in other affiliated hospitals and community centers  for required clinical experience.
Library

To be on par with escalating intellectual expectations of our times, we have a spacious and well ventilated Library area. It is well furnished and has adequate number of recent edition books, journals, back volumes and animation CDs. All the furniture are aesthetically designed to promote comfort and the colors are pleasant to eyes. The conducive internal atmosphere provides a sense of well being for the students and promotes learning.
