The medical work in Neyyoor was started in 1838 by a Medical Missionary .The formal Nursing Training was started in the year 1923 and the first batch of students got recognition from Registrar for Nursing Madras in 1926.The Government recognition for Midwifery Training was obtained in the year 1939.Moto of School of Nursing is “Not to be served but to serve”. The staff and students strive to keep up to this great calling. The teaching and training programme is planned towards this goal. The education given here is to promote health care both curative and preventive in hospital and community.

The curriculum is designed such that the interaction of socio-economic factors sanitary conditional, personal hygiene,etc. And their effect on the health of the individual and the community at large is brought out clearly. The practical training in the wards and in the community gives them ample opportunity to apply the acquired knowledge and growth their own experience.

Future plan of our institution is to up grade of nursing school to B.Sc.Nursing College and Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
