1.ADMISSION PROCEDURE:
As per the guidelines of the Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education, Chennai, the Govt
quota seats(65% of Total seats) will be filled by the Govt based on the merit and Govt norms. Management quota(35%) seats will be filled after ranking the eligible candidates according to their merits by the Tamilnadu Private Professional Colleges association
i) Eligibility Criteria for admission to Diploma in Nursing
1)Minimum and Maximum age for admission will be 17 and 25 years respectively.
2)Minimum educational qualification
a) 10 +2 class passed or its equivalent preferably with Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) subjects with aggregate of 45% marks.
b) Those who have cleared 10+2 vocational ANM course (revised after 2001) from the School recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
c) ANM training i.e.10+1 ½ years training should also have passed + 2 or its equivalent examination.
3)Students shall be medically fit.
4)Candidates from other states other than Tamil nadu must procure migration certificate from previous University/ Board and Eligibility certificate from Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.

Objectives :

ii) Eligibility for Admission to B.Sc.(N) degree course:
1)Candidates belonging to all categories for admission to the B.Sc. degree course in Nursing (Basic) should have passed at the qualifying examinations (academic stream) after a period of 12 years of study with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Botany & Zoology.
2)Individual pass in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany & Zoology (both Theory & Practical) and English with a minimum of 35% marks in each of the above subject and with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics Chemistry, Biology & English is mandatory.

Objectives :
On completion of the four year B.Sc nursing programme the graduate will be able to:

iii) M.Sc.(Nursing) -Eligibility Criteria/Admission Requirements:
1)The Candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife from Tamil Nadu Nurses and midwifes council. This is mandatory for recognition of course completion.
2)The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of B.Sc.(.(N)/B.Sc. Hons. Nursing/Post Basic Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate mark. [original marks statement of all years/semesters should be produced.]
3)The candidate should have undergone the full time (regular stream not distance mode) Course in B.Sc. (N)/B.Sc. Hons. Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc.(N) in an Institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council
4)Minimum one year of experience after Basic B.Sc. (N)
5)Minimum one year experience proof or after Post Basic B.Sc.(N) (regular stream)

ACHIEVEMENTS:
* RVS College of Nursing has been selected as the only Nursing College in the Coimbatore region to be a member of “ Public Health Education and Research Consortium” by the National Institute of Family Welfare, New Delhi.
*ISO Certification :
The College was granted ISO 9001 : 2000 and the certificate was received in September 2006. It was re-inspected on 02-07-2007 and the result awaited.
Alumni association:
We are proud to have achieved the much awaited milestone of the college i.e., the formation of an Alumni association named “KALPAVRIKSHA” .The Alumni Association was inaugurated by Prof.Mrs.Abanthi Gopan ,Nursing Director of Sahyadri College of Nursing ,Mangalore on 29-09-2007.Mr.Meenskshi Sundaram was elected as president (1st batch), Ms.Marial was selected as secretary and Mrs. Vijayalakshmi as Treasurer.
Our college was declared the best institution for the same for the breast feeding from other network of India , New Delhi for the 3rd consecutive year.
We are proud to inform that our college won 1st prize in “poster cum model” Exhibit Competition held on 21-12-07 at Masonic Children Hospital , Coimbatore competing with 9 other colleges in Coimbatore.
