a) General overview of the college:
The Rathinavel Subramaniam Educational Trust was established in December 1983, to further the cause of education in Tamilnadu. It was established in the memory of Master Rathinavel Subramaniam, son of Dr. K.V. Kupusamy, Managing Director of K.P.V. Textiles, Sulur and Chairperson of R.V.S Educational Trust.
The Trust runs several Institutions of Arts and Science and Health Sciences. The Trust felt that yeoman services should be rendered to the society by training nurses to meet the health needs of society. Therefore, the College of Nursing was started in 1993 with a four year B.Sc Degree programme. Subsequently a 2 year programme leading to M.Sc (N) and a 3 1/2 year programme of Diploma Nursing was started in 2006.
The College is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University and is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and by the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council, Chennai.

c) Future plan:
Separate independent Nursing College with inbuilt Auditorium, Examination hall, Lab and Class room facilities for M.Sc and B.Sc Programmes.
Management
A) Academic affairs:
i) Managing Trustee:
The Managing Trustee
 Mr. K. SENTHIL GANESH is the Managing Trustee of the institution. He obtained his MBA degree at Texas A.M. University U.S.A in 1997. He also obtained M.Sc. (Software Engineering) at University of Westminister, London, U.K. in 2004 and FMA Honor Society, USA (Financial Management Association). He manages the day-to-day affairs of the Trust. He is the Director of RVS Infotech Ltd., Coimbatore and RVS Agrotech Ltd., Thathankulam. He is dynamic, visionary and he inspires the institution to success. The new state of art computer lab shows his immense interest in the development of the college.
ii) Chairman:
 Dr. K.V. Kupusamy is the founder of the “RATHNAVEL SUBRAMANIAM EDUCATIONAL TRUST” in the name of his son Rathinavel Subramaniam in 1983. He was awarded the Doctor of Philosophy in Education by Dianora University (Italy) in 1993. He was also awarded sovereign Excellency Knight, VIDYA JYOTHI for his achievements in the field of Educational Service in 1994, GLORY OF INDIA by International Friendship Society of India, UDYOG EXCELLENCE, VIJAY SHREE and BHARAT JYOTHI for his achievements in the field of Technology, Public life, Social Service, Education, Business & Industry in 1994.
