Achievements:
Abirami educational trust has a nursing educational institution in that it has Nursing School for General nursing and Midwifery programme for three and half years and College for B.Sc Nursing programme. The School & College are running in a same campus situated at N0.1/5, Chettiyar Agaram Road, Vanagaram, Chennai – 600 095. The institution gives special attention to the student individually with adequate staffs. Infrastructure is highly appreciable with all well equipped labs, library with more than 1500 books and Indian & foreign journals.
The Vision and Mission
The School & college was established in Chennai to impart quality education to students aspiring for a career with noble intention of selfless service to humanity. The college has been set up in a sprawling 45000Sqft, situated in 1/5 Chettiyar Agaram Road, Siva Bootham Village, Vanagaram, Chennai – 600 095 well served by road and rail links.
THE FOUNDERS:
The college has been founded by a well known industrialist family of philanthropic bent of mind with a dream to serve society, coupled with the aim of imparting quality education in nursing. The Management of the college is vested with highly qualified team, who innovatively think of improvement in education and to strive to seek career opportunity to the students passing out. Towards this, efforts are underway to have tie-ups with major hospitals in the country and abroad to have campus selection. The Management places greater stress in indoctrinating discipline in the students.
OBJECTIVE OF THE FOUNDERS:
Selfless service to humanity in the best possible way of reaching out to children, irrespective of their economic status, to impart discipline, selflessness so that they become a core group in society to serve the sick with a smile. The Management in its enterprising nature has devised schemes to support lesser privileged and meritorious students to realise their dream ambition, by way of scholarships.

The School & College is subjected to periodical inspection by the different accrediting bodes in the state and national level. The latest inspections are by:

Curriculum Competencies
Admissions: We can assure the demand for nurses in India and abroad in the fast growing population. We have permission for in take at present is 50 Nos. In that 17 student under the management quota and 33 under the government selection.
Course starts of B.Sc (N) on 15 th September and for Diploma in Nursing on 15 th of July every year.
Governing body meeting will be held before commencing the course. Board of directors, Principal, Vice Principal and administrative Officer Will meet and discuss about the requirements needed for the start of the program.
Governing council consisting of board of directors, Principal, Vice Principal, University member and external academically experienced person will meet and discuss the development of the college and School.
Students will be exposed to free medical check up based on which they may also be treated if it is needed. Hepatitis “B” immunization will be given before they enter Clinical area in order to prevent the students being infected by Hepatitis “B” from the patients
Lamb Lighting ceremony will be conducted after 3 months of preliminary session and /or before starting Clinical experience in Memory of Florence Nightingale the founder of Nursing . The Students will take oath to become dedicated professionals.
This year we conducted lamb Lighting ceremony on 29 th January. The Students taking oath is shown in picture. Prof. G. Balakrishnan founder of Right Hospital had been the chief guest.
Educational / jolly tour will be arranged every year a part of fulfillment of curriculum and as a educational activity respectively. This year Students were taken to near by places as a day spending jolly visit on 5 th May Winter and summer vacations are given to students every year. Winter vacation given in the end of December & beginning of January. Summer Vacation is given in the month of May.
For B.Sc (N) Model exams are conducted from the middle of June to 3rd week of July. Study leave will be given in the last week of July.
For Diploma G.N.M model exam will be conduct from the middle of March to 3rd week of April. Study leave will be given in the last week of April.
No study leave for arrear Students
B.Sc Nursing Student will write the University examination in the month of August and Diploma G.N.M Students will write the Board Examination during the month of May & June every year.
Integration of Theory and Practice: To develop the various skills of student the institution carefully select the teaching and learning activities under the guidance of curriculum committee. To provide the best clinical skill to the student the institution carefully selected the hospital for tie-up.
Transport: The School and College have their own bus to Mobility of students to various clinical areas and also for observation visits.
Evaluation system: This is the system to judge the ability of student grazing power in the field their interest. This systemic is effectively implemented and the performance of the students in theory and practice are reported to the parents periodically. Special care is taken for academically weak students.
Spiritual Activity: This Nursing educational institution haspermitted the students to follow the philosophies of their religion without disturbing the scheduled educational activities. |
