Profile
Saveetha University is a vibrant community of learning .The cardinal feature of Saveetha is the emphasis on providing students with ample opportunity to explore and then deepen their academic interest with key objective of “finding their individual passion’’. The University spans across two campuses, one at 162, Poonamallee and the other at Thandalam.
College of Nursing is one of the constituent Colleges of the University, started in the year 1992 with an intake of 50 B.Sc (N) students .The nursing college is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and also by the Tamilnadu Nurses & Midwives Council, Chennai.
M.Sc (N) was started in the year 1995 with an intake of 6 students in the specialties like Medical Surgical Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Maternity Nursing, & Mental Health Nursing. At present we have 20 seats per year intake in all five specialties namely Medical Surgical Nursing , Pediatric Nursing , Maternity Nursing , Mental Health Nursing & Community Health Nursing .
Future plans
Short term Goal
To enhance - B.Sc 50 seats / year to 100 seats /year intake
- M.Sc 20 seats / year to 30 seats / year intake
To start Post Basic Nursing course with 50 seats / year intake
Long Term Goal
To start Post Diploma in the specialty areas like Cardiothoracic Nursing, Orthopedic Nursing, Emergency and
Trauma care, Critical care Nursing and Oncology Nursing.
