College of Nursing has all laboratories for Fundamentals of Nursing, Maternity Nursing, Child health Nursing, Community health Nursing, Nutrition, Anatomy, Audio Visual Aids and Computer labs offer best learning facilities to develop the technical skills before the students have practice on patients.

Laboratories Facilities
a)Fundamental Nursing
Fundamental lab is spread of 1566 sq.ft with well equipped with adequate and modern instruments, 6 manikins and 1 mobile CPR model on which students are allowed to practice their procedures before encountering the patients. 20-25 students can practice at a time

                                                                                                                                            
b)Child Health Nursing Lab
Child health nursing has all the modern amenities with 2 pediatric manikins and all the necessary articles needed for the students to perform their child health care procedures.

c) Maternity Health Nursing Lab  
The lab is equipped with 2 manikins, models of pelvis, fetal skull, placenta and spongy fetuses to practice different mechanisms of labor. It is also equipped with variety of instruments and labor kit.

d) Community Health Nursing Lab
Community lab is equipped with adequate community bags , instruments , AV aids and family folders and can accommodate 20 – 25 students to practice the procedures at a time.

e) Nutrition Lab
Crockery, Cutlery, adequate fuel and stove is available for the cookery practice .Cereals, Pulses, vegetables, fruits and other groceries are made available as and when it is required.






f) Biochemistry & Microbiology
A separate lab for Biochemistry & Microbiology is available in the campus. It is well equipped with latest & modern equipments

g) Anatomy & Physiology Lab
A separate lab for Anatomy & Physiology is available in the college premises with cadavers, skeletons and different specimens.

h) Computer Lab
A state of the art computer lab with 80- 90 hi- tech computers are available with Wi Fi  internet facility & SPSS package . 



Transport

Adequate transport facility is available for staff and students from various pick up points in and around Chennai and about 27 Hi-Tech air buses ply in the morning and evening. The facility is also available for students to visit various observational centers and clinical areas during their postings to various affiliated hospitals.

Library
A well equipped central library in an area of 12000 sq. feet functions from 8:00 A.M to 8:00 P .M. The library has    a huge volume of books with more than 150 national and international journals are available for the students benefit .Photocopier and internet facility with Wi Fi broadband access is available for the students. The campus is a Wi Fi access campus and covers a radius of 75 kms.
A separate library is also available in the College of Nursing exclusively for the benefit of Nursing students. The library has 4562 Nursing and allied specialty books and about 25    national and   international journals are subscribed as hard copies and the College of Nursing library also has Wi Fi broadband access . The library functions   between 8: AM and 4: PM.

INTERNET FACILITY
Air-conditioned Internet center attached to the central library with high end computers are provided for the student's use. Parents and students can access with their ID & passwords   to the  www. saveetha. edu. in  web page to know their day to day  attendance , performance, marks , important events and circulars  to update their  progress .Faculty also are given ID & passwords   to update the students progress and  e – interact with their colleagues , students and parents on various academic affairs.
SEMINAR HALLS AND AUDITORIUMS
There are 3 auditoriums apart form the multipurpose hall in the College. A large examination cum auditorium with a seating capacity of 1000 with modern facilities is located within the campus. This auditorium is provided with modern gadgets like LCD projectors, multimedia systems, slide projectors and video conferencing facilities.

BANK AND OTHER UTILITIES

24 hours ATM facility available in the campus. Canteen and Mess are provided with modern steam kitchens. A well laid playground in an area of 10 acres with facilities for outdoor sports. Sewage Treatment plant: The modern sewage treatment plant is provided for efficient wastage management. Incinerator: Biological wastes are disposed off with modern incinerator and also taken care by Tamilnadu Waste Management Ltd.
WATER SUPPL
24 Hours treated water supply. Mineral water is supplied for drinking purpose with imported Reverse Osmosis plant. Power Supply: (i) Electric Supply is provided with 500 KVA HT Transformer (ii) Uninterrupted Power Supply using 3 generators having total capacity of 1000 KVA are available.

Hospital (Parental / Affiliated)

A 460 bedded full fledged teaching medical college & hospital is functioning for the benefit of the students and to cater to the needs of the local population. The hospital has six major operation theaters, two minor operation Theaters, labor room , casualty, regular multi specialty OPD’S , specialty wards , CCU  and intensive care unit. Centrally Air-conditioned sophisticated classrooms and laboratories with ergometrically designed furniture’s, architecturally and aesthetically designed modern sophisticated infrastructure. Since the hospital is located on the national highway a trauma & emergency care unit is functioning round the clock.

A community health centre administered by Saveetha University at Kuthambakkam village   functions from
9 am to 12 noon everyday and   covers about 7 villages with a population of 5,675.

Hostel facilities

Accommodation

 Modern luxurious hostels are located in both campuses for boys and girls. All the rooms are spacious and provided with a cot, table, book shelf and cupboard. All the hostels are WiFi enabled with provision for computers, telephone, television, refrigerator and air-conditioner. In addition, the bath attached rooms are provided with a geyser.

Recreation

Sports, recreational facilities including gymnasium are also provided.

Mess

The hostels are well equipped with modern and hygienic kitchen(Gas & Steam) to cater to the needs of the students. Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian cuisine & continental foods  are available. A special dinner is organized in the last week of every month. Mineral water is supplied for drinking purpose with imported Reverse Osmosis plant. 24 hours uninterrupted power supply is given to the hostels using 3 generators having total capacity of 1000 KVA.
