Scudder Memorial Hospital, Ranipet is the first seed sown and nurtured by the renowned Illustrious “ Scudder “ from Reformed Church in America – Dr. John Scudder, Dr. Henry Martyn Scudder and Dr. Silas Scudder. This Medical Mission Centre in the form of a dispensary was started in 1851. It has grown into a 250 bedded hospital and made telling impact in and around Ranipet. Our esteemed Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Y. William had felt the need for upgrading the hospital to fulfil to-day’s need. Hence, as a first step, the Diocese had entered in to a MoU with CMC Hospital Vellore in 2004 for a period of 5 years for professional and managerial help which helped the Diocese to arrest the down trend in the Medical Mission. The hospital caters to the needy ones in the fields of patient care, community health
and education.
