Profile
Sri Ramachandra Educational and Health Trust established Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute in 1985, under the able leadership of Late Shri.N.P.V.Ramasamy Udayar. It was initially affiliated to the University of Madras and later in 1989, transferred to The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. In 1994, the Government of India, on the recommendation of UGC, declared Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute as a ‘Deemed University’.
In accordance with the UGC’s notification in 2006, the Institution is now redesigned as Sri Ramachandra University (Established under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956). This University is now under the able guidance and dynamic leadership of
Chancellor Shri V.R.Venkataachalam, son of the Founder Chancellor.
Sri Ramachandra University is located in a sprawling campus of about 150 acres of vibrant, green, foliage in semi- urban Chennai, on the Bangalore - Chennai highway. This haven for learning and practice has the following nine constituent colleges:

Vision of the Sri Ramachandra School and College of Nursing is ‘to propagate socially meaningful health care, nursing education and research with adherence to moral, legal, and ethical values.
MISSION
- To build all round and overall development of the nursing students by providing balance between curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
- To organize, sequence and integrate the teaching-learning activities to involve explicit and implicit curricula.
- To focus on attitude building and personality development of nursing students for provision of excellent quality patient care.
- To prepare the nursing students to combat current nursing challenges and demands of the society.
