INTRODUCTION        

Dr Alva Educational and Charitable Trust was formed under the guidance of Dr. K.S. Alva on 2nd December 1998, residing at 5, Kamaraj Nagar, Vettaikaran Pudur Post, Pollachi Taluk, Coimbatore District.

Dr. K.S. Alva initiated to form the Trust and it was named as “Alva Educational and Charitable Trust”.   The following Members were present and a trust was formed on that date. The members of the trust took pledge in front of Dr. K.S. Alva for its smooth and effective administration of the trust.

The following members were present at the Registered Office at the time of the pledge.

Dr. K.S. Alva initiated and handed his motto to the trust members, The Trust members took Dr.K.S. Alva ‘s motto and provided a good education to the poor, needy people for and to the society.  Further the trust on his behalf set apart  a sum of Rupees Five thousand only for the sake and to serve as the nucleus of the funds for its trust.

TRUST PROGRAM:

Dr. Alva Educational and Charitable Trust focused on to categories of people on its mission statement.  The Main focus of the trust is to learn and make a healthy living.  The trust has already established 2 hospitals with 250 beds, with good infrastructure and equipments for the people.  One of the hospitals situated at 74/A2, Meenkarai Road, Ambarampalayam, Pollachi Taluk.  Coimbatore District.  The other hospital located 5, Kamaraj Nagar, Vettaikaran pudur Post, Pollachi Taluk, Coimbatore District.

The main Objective of our program is to make every student be placed in a good job of their interest after the training schedule. 

1. Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery ( GNM)

A Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery , focused on its  General category with an equal participation for each and every students on its  program.Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery is a  3 1/2 years program and it is affiliated to  Govt. Of Tamil Nadu under G.O. Ms. No 125/dated on 23.03.2001,Tamil Nadu Nursing Council and Indian Nursing Council.  GNM spread its roots on our institute in the year 2002 as it‘s first set of batch.  First batch students came out with successful colours in 2005 and most of them are placed with good jobs at various hospitals in Tamil Nadu.

Second set started in the year 2003-2006 and they to are placed successfully.  Four sets of batches are trained and placed in various hospitals.  Consecutively we are looking for more students to take active participation in our program (GNM) and be placed in various hospitals for the forth coming future too.

TRUST ACHIEVEMENT:

The trust has reached on its mission by imparting the poor and needy people not only in education but also in health prospects and still on its full swing.  Further it has conducted medical camps, social service activities for its rural people and too its surrounding area too. We have created and conducted many camps like Diabetic, Hypertension, Eye, Maternity and Special Camps, for the people below the poverty line.  So that they can lead a healthy life.  Our Trust believes that many rural people had been benefited by our camps and this will continue for the needy people. In our educational Institution our students are trained well, better placed and are now very happy and still they remember us for providing a good education and friendly environment with a job to earn a living.   This proves our achievements in GNM we have placed 18 students during the year 2002-2005 successfully.  In 2003-2006 batch 16 students have been placed successfully, in 2004-2007 and 2005-2008, 19 & 18 students are placed successfully.

TRUST OBJECTIVE:

For Imparting of professionals in vocational and Technical and Scientific educational training and for the development of Arts and Grafts.  We require Grants and assistance as donation for us to establish, and maintain, run, improve and to develop our concern.

1. To take over and manage any existing institution, whether professional vocational Technical or otherwise.
2. To establish, maintain and subsides   institutions, by providing health education in humanities, Social work and in rural development, Adult education, Engineering, Commerce, and in Industry and Applied arts.
3. To provide staff development programmes, in job oriented fields from technical medical education for the self assessment programmes to become as a self employer and entrepreneurs.
4.       To establish maintain and subsides in reading rooms  such as libraries cum recreation centers, Sports clubs , Museums, and other centers for spreading education to the public and also by providing self employment services.
5. To provide and establish an old age homes for the old and needy people.
6.  To institutionalize and award scholarships for its study research and providing stipends for apprentice for the above purpose.
7. To spread education among the public; we conduct seminars workshops & conference show performance as a source of media.
8. To establish, maintain and subsides construction for building for promotion of arts, music, drama, social and cultural activities and publication of books and magazines for spreading the education.

FUTURE PLAN
Our trust   believes that “There is nothing so special we have done, but lots of services should be initiated and rendered to and for our people and make the place a health environment for them live.
