Admission cannot be claimed as a matter of right and the institution reserves the right of Admission through

2. Personal interview by the selection committee.
Final selection of candidate will be subject to selection committee and medical fitness. All the candidates selected to pursue the Nursing Course shall submit the original certificates at the time of admission.

Application fees & Tuition fees
Application fees Rs.500/- as DD in favour of Apollo School of Nursing payable at Chennai. Tuition fees Rs.25,000/- annually.

College

1.  Admission

            The candidates seeking admission to any of the course shall obtain the prescribed application form from the College and shall submit the duly filled form to the Principal of College of Nursing along with Certificate of Medical fitness from an authorized Medical Officer stating that the candidate is physically fit to undergo the selected course.

2.  Selection
The selection of the candidates will be as per the procedure recommended by the Govt. from time to time.  ONLY FEMALE CANDIDATES ARE SELECTED TO JOIN THE COURSE.All the candidates selected to join the course shall submit their necessary Original Certificates at the time of Admission.  The certificates shall be returned only after the completion of the course and the Internship period.

3.  Medical Certificate
Every candidate before admission to this programme shall submit to the Principal of the Institution a certificate of Medical Fitness from an authorized Medical Officer that the candidate is physically fit to undergo the Academic Programme.

4.  Enrollment
The candidates selected are expected to Enroll their names in T.N. Dr. M.G.R. Medical University within 7 days of Admission by remitting the prescribed fees along with the application form.

5.  Registration
The candidate admitted shall register with Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University by remitting the prescribed fee along with the application form for Registration duly filled in and forwarded to the University through the Head of the Institution within the stipulated date.

6.  Medium of Instruction
English shall be the medium of Instruction for all the subject of study and for Examinations.

7.  Curriculum
The curiculum and the syllabi for the courses shall be as prescribed by the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and Indian Nursing Council from time to time.

8.  Payment of fees
The candidates are expected to pay the prescribed fees fixed from time to time within the cut off dates.  The delay in fee remittance will attract fine.  The fees once paid shall not be returned under any circumstances.

9.  College working hours
The college functions full day from Monday to Saturday and the working hours are from 8.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on all working days.  Second and Fourth Saturday of every month are observed as holidays.

10.  Attendance
A candidate is required to put in a minimum of 80% of attendance in both theory and Practical separately in each subject before admission to the examination.

11.  Uniform
The students are required to wear the prescribed uniform during their Clinical Experiences.  Two sets of Clinical uniform and one set of Community Health Nursing uniform will be provided by the college upon payment.

12.  Vacation and leave
A total of 6 weeks of vacation per year is planned and the students are permitted to avail the same as two weeks in December and four weeks in May .Public holidays are as per the rules of the institution.  Special leave may be granted by the Principal on prior request from the parents for special occasions.  Unauthorized leave will be deemed as absenteeism which will attract disciplinary action.

13.  Discontinuation
Candidates getting married during the course of study shall not be permitted to continue the course.  Candidates who want to discontinue will be subjected to abide with the rules of the College enforced from time to time.

II. ADMISSION REGULATION FOR BASIC B.Sc.  (N) COURSE

1.  Age limit for Admission
The candidate should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or should complete the said age on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the 1st year of the course.
2.  Educational Qualification
The Candidate should have passed +2 or equivalent qualifying examination with Science subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or) Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.

3.  Eligibility Certificate
Candidates who have passed any qualifying examination other than the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu, should produce an Eligibility Certificate from the T.N. Dr. M.G.R. Medical University before seeking admission.

4.  Commencement & Duration of the course
The Basic B.Sc. (N) course commences on 1st August.  The duration of the study shall extend over a period of four Academic years comprising of VIII Semesters.

III. ADMISSION REGULATIONS FOR P.B.B.Sc. (N) FOR TRAINED NURSES

1.  Age limit for admission
There is no upper age limit for admission into the P.C.B.Sc.(N) course for Trained nurses.

2.  Educational qualification
Candidates for Admission to B.Sc.(N) for Trained Nurses course should have qualified in Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery and be a Registered Nurse and Midwife in the Tamil Nadu Nursing Council or any other State Nursing Council accepted by the University.  In addition the candidate should have put in a minimum of two years experience after Nursing Council registration in any Hospital or Public Health field.

3.  Eligibility Certificate
Candidates seeking admission shall obtain an Eligibility Certificate from the T.N. Dr. M.G.R. Medical University by remitting the prescribed fees along with the application form.

 4.  Commencement & Duration of the course

The B.Sc.(N) course for Trained Nurses commences on 1st August.  The duration of the study shall extend over a period of two Academic years.

IV ADMISSION REGULATIONS FOR M.Sc., POST GRADUATE DEGREE IN NURSING

1.  Branches of study
The following shall be the Branches of study for M.Sc. Degree in Nursing.

Branch I   -     Medical Surgical Nursing
Branch II  -     Child Health Nursing
Branch III -     Maternity Nursing
Branch IV -     Community Health Nursing
Branch V -      Psychiatry Health Nursing

2.  Eligibility for admission

The duration of certified study for the M.Sc. Nursing programme shall extend over a period of two Academic Years.

4.  Commencement of the programme (Course)

The programme will commence in the month of May.

5.  Attendance

The Candidate should have 80% of Attendance in theory and practicals separately and should have completed all the requirements prescribed for each programme of study including Clinical Practice before admission to Examination.

6. Condonation of Lack of Attendance
There shall be no condo nation of lack of attendance to post graduate programme.

7.  Curriculum
The Curriculum and the syllabi for the programme shall be prescribed by the university from time to time.

8.  Scheme of Examination
Theory and practical Examinations shall be conducted as part I and part II at the end of first year and IInd year respectively in the subjects as per syllabus.  If the candidate fails, she will be allowed to appear in supplementary examinations (September or in March) either in failed subjects or along with other subjects in subsequent examination.

9.  Submission of Dissertation

The Candidate shall submit a dissertation in the field of specialty, two months before the final examination for valuing and Certification.  During the programme of study the candidate is required to write a dissertation in her specialty.

10.  Resubmission of thesis

Resubmission of thesis with corrections can be submitted within 6 months from the date of return from the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.  Resubmission of thesis with total re-doing can be done within 2 years.

The Head of Institutions shall declare 6 (Six) weeks vacation in an Academic Year to the students.  The vacation will be decided by the Head of the Institution.
