The ordinary school day shall consist of not less than 8 hours inclusive of recess and lunch break. The school will be functioning full day from Monday to Saturday [8.30am to 4.30 pm]
Uniform
The students are required to wear the prescribed uniform during their Clinical Experiences. Two sets of Clinical uniform and one pair of Community health nursing

LABORATORY FACILITIES
The laboratories for Anatomy, Nutrition, Fundamentals of Nursing, Maternity Nursing, Child health Nursing, Community health Nursing, Audio Visual Aids and Computer labs offer best learning facilities to develop the technical skills before the students have practice on patients.
Fundamentals of Nursing
Fundamentals of Nursing lab is spread in an area of 2,500 Sq. feet. It has 6 dummies for students practice of various procedures. Equipped with 10 beds including fracture bed & fowlers bed & 15 sets of all items needed for nursing procedure practice. It has well ventilated with adequate lighting & provides facilities for practice of 20 students at a time. It has got handwashing facilities both pedal and hand operated. There is a separate area for teaching isolation techniques. The lab is equipped with built in cupboards to store items & equipements. Lab has got adequate tables & trolleys to facilitate procedure setup. It is also equipped with wheel chairs & structures to teach patient transport.

Child Health Nursing
Child Health Nursing is setup in an area of 1,500 Sq. feet. It has got delivery tables, manikins all essential instruments used in maternity & child health. There is a separate area for no. of charts, models, specimens depicting growth of the fetus and other areas of MCH. There are four delivery cots with all necessary accessories. There is separate area earmarked for teaching neonatal assessment baby bath, growth and development and a play therapy area.

Community Health Nursing
The community lab is spacious 1,500 sq.feet with adequate lighting and ventilation. The lab is well equipped with all furniture & equipments to facilitate students learning. It has adequate AV aids for health education like, Puppets, Charts, Models, Flash Cards, Flannelograph. Each students is provided with fully equipped Community Health bags for facilitating Community activities.
Anatomy & Physiology
Anatomy & Physiology lab is spacious well ventilated having 1,500 Sq. ft covered area. There are three whole body mounted skeleton and plenty of loose bones to facilitate students learning. It is equipped with charts & models of all systems.
Nutrition Nursing
Nutrition lab is spacious 1,500sq.ft. with separate area earmarked for preparation, cooking & display of food. It has got LPG connections, hand washing facilities, storage facility for dry ration, refrigerator for storing perishables. Pressure cookers, Mixie & Microwave oven facilitate cooking demonstrations, dining area facilitate students to learn serving etiquette & how to make food presentation & serving in an attractive way.
Computer Lab
Computer lab is spacious with 1,500 sq. ft. area & well equipped with 20 computers.
TRANSPORTATION
The students are privileged to have transport facilities which enable them to reach Apollo hospitals, and other areas of clinical postings. School is provided with 2 buses – 60 seater, minibus – 35 seater, omni – 8 seater, Auto & Car.

LIBRARY
The library is constructed in such a way so as to facilitate students learning. It comprises of Reading Rooms, Journal Section, facilities for Photocopying, Data Processing and Internet browsing with good collection of latest edition of books and journals of both Indian and foreign publications. It is fully Air Conditioned to provide a congenial atmosphere for learning.

Constructed in a sprawling campus, spread over 12.86 acres of land the Apollo College of Nursing has world class physical infrastructure. It is located at Ayanambakkam, 5 Kms from Koyambedu Bus Stand on Poonamalle Highways and well connected to the Railway Station. The well-planned infrastructure encompasses Academic blocks, Administrative block, Faculty Offices, Library, Laboratories and Hostel.

Laboratory Facilities
The Nurses should have professional training and skill in Nursing procedures during her academia to function effectively and safeguard the clients and the profession in the hospital and community. To facilitate this, the students are initially trained to provide care, practice procedures and understand customs, habits and traditions in a closed environment called the “Nursing Laboratories”.
Apollo College of nursing has world class nursing laboratories adequately equipped with simulators, mannequins, models, articles and equipments to provide hands on experience for the students in a controlled setting. The students learn in the labs by making trial and errors and promptly guided and corrected by their faculty. The labs leave the students with confidence to practice nursing care efficiently on their patients. In a way labs ensure ethical principles of nursing practice, by safe guarding the patients getting exposed to raw practice of students. We are affiliated with Government health post at Thousand Lights, Pushpa Nagar, Kalyani & Royapettah for Urban Community Health experience. We have our own Community Health & Research centre at Tambaram, which provides free medical services to a population of 30,000 surrounding area. For rural community health experience we have adopted Koladi village under Thiruverkadu panchayat. We have a Rural Health Centre functioning at our Campus providing services to Koladi village & other surrounding villages. We are affiliated with Govt. PHC Nemam, Thirunindravur, MCH centre- Thirumalizhai & Poonamalle for all Govt. programmes in the community health area.
URBAN COMMUNITY HEALTH & RESEARCH CENTRE, TAMBARAM & ADOPTED VILLAGE NEDUNGUNDRAM (OWN)
Nedunkundram is a rural Community which is situated near Tambaram. Nedunkundram is 11 Kms away from Apollo School of Nursing.
Geographic Informations:
Near Vandaloor Zoo Nedunkundram Village is located. At the entrance of this village one lake is present. Next to Nudunkundram, Alappakkam village is situated.

Mainly Hindus and Christians makeup the population. Few Muslim families are also there. Main Occupation is daily wages at agricultural lands. Very few are having their own land. There are 3 Temples and 3 Churches present. No Mosque is there.
One women welfare society and one youth fellowship are in the village to improve the social status of the people.
Peoples are respecting each other. There is no Post office.
Health Practices:
Drinking water is from Public tap. For other purpose they are getting from Hand Pump and Well. Many are practicing open field defalcation, very few got lavaratory.

Hostel facilities
The hostel block built in international style stands as a distinctive structure in the whole of the campus is a home away from home for all girls. The hostel provides excellent living rooms, recreation facilities, sanitary facilities and good water supply for 24 hours.

RECREATION
The sports facilities within the campus enables the students outdoor games such as Tennicoit, Volleyball, throw ball, basket ball, tennis, and Badminton etc. The indoor games such as table Tennis, Chess, Carom Board & scrabble etc, are provided in the hostel. TV with Dish TV connection & DVD facilities are provided for entertainment.
MESS
Mess will be common. Students shall specify their choice of Vegetarian or Non-Vegetarian. During clinical day at 6.00 to 6.30 a.m. & packed lunch. Students are expected to adhere to the timings strictly. Students will not be permitted to take their food to their rooms. Any suggestions, complaints can be recorded in the Mess Register kept in the warden office / Dining hall report to the warden. Be properly dressed when you enter dining hall / visitors lobby

The extra curricular activities are organized regularly through “Student Nurses Association”. The students participate in state level and national level competitions.
SCHOLARSHIPS
The reservation category students belonging to SC/ST/BC/MBC community shall approach for scholarships provided from District Adi-Dravida Tribal Welfare Department and District backward Calsses & Minority Welfare Department, Thiruvallur. The necessary information to be furnished in the Application Form for the same shall be forwarded by the school to the above authorities on request. The same procedure shall apply for students seeking educational loan from Nationalised banks.
