PHILOSOPHY OF THE COLLEGE OF NURSING
We the faculty of College of Nursing, ‘Believe in preparing students at Graduate and Post Graduate levels in accordance to the highest standards of the Nursing profession, keeping in mind the changing trends in Nursing educational fields and to render to the current needs of the community and the Health Care system. And we also believe that professional nursing requires sound knowledge, attitude and skills to meet the challenges in health care due to Technological advancements”.
OBJECTIVES
- The Graduate Nurse is prepared to be professional nurses to function in the first level position in the hospital, community health area, or colleges and schools of nursing and to provide comprehensive care affectively in all aspects of health.
- The Post graduate Nurse is prepared to function in a leadership position in a selected area of clinical specialty. Nursing Education, Nursing Administration and in Research carry out independent research studies and also be a Nurse practitioner.
MISSION
- Prepare students at the Graduate, Post graduate and Doctoral levels in accordance with the highest standards of the profession
- Inculcate qualities in the students to function optimally in the hospital, community and the field of education.
- Equip students to lead in selected areas of clinical speciality, nursing education, administration and in research to carry out independent research studies and also be a nurse practitioner.

Having held various prestigious positions like Member and Chairman, Board of studies in nursing , The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and Vice president of TNAI ,New Delhi- Tamilnadu branch, Member of Ph.D consortium, Rajiv Gandhi University and Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi , presently she is the Chairperson of the Board of studies in nursing , member of the faculty of nursing and also the member of the sub –committee senate, The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.
