Sri Ramakrishna College of Nursing, Coimbatore is run by  M/s. S.N.R Charitable Trust which was found in 1970 purely for its charitable purposes.  Being an ardent devotee of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, all the institutions started by the trust bear the name of the holy sage, Sri Ramakrishna. Since then it has taken giant strides towards its goals providing the poor and the needy with such medical relief and the advanced education as needed by the community. The Trust also runs various educational institutions which aims in overall development of the students right from their childhood. All these institutions which include two Higher Secondary  Matriculation Schools, College of Pharmacy, College of Physiotherapy, two Arts and Science colleges catering both men and women from in and around Coimbatore, they also provide technical education through two colleges of Engineering and Technology, a Dental College which excel in both curricular and extra curricular activities and are renowned state wide. Having felt the need for the service to the society by health care, the College of Nursing was established in the year 1986, to promote education in nursing, which was an immediate and vital necessity in the field of medicine those years, for the cause this was the first self financing college in Tamilnadu. The institute then affiliated to the Bharathiyar University was later merged with the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R Medical University, Chennai and recognized by the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council and approved by the Indian Nursing Council.

1986   -   Recognition by the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives

1986   -   Recognition by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi
1986   -    S.N.A commenced
1987   -   NSS Programme commenced
1992   -   M. Sc (N) Degree Course Started
1994   -   Post Basic B. Sc.  Degree in Nursing Course Started
1990   -   The Formation of Alumni Association
2006   -   Decennial Commenced
2007   -   Decennial Valedictory
2008   -  Another New building for College of Nursing was opened
