Sooriya School of Nursing resides No.26, Kaveri Street, Saligramam, Chennai – 93.
Sooriya School of Nursing provided with 4 laboratories, 4 class rooms, Office rooms, library, reading room, computer and Xerox room.
All the rooms are well ventilated, lighten and equipped, furnished according to Indian Nursing Council norms.

Students are posted to 200 bedded “SOORIYA HOSPITAL” for clinical experiences. ‘URBAN’ programmes tie up with Vadapalani Health Post and for ‘RURAL’ programmes tie up with Government Primary Health Centre at Periyapalayam for community health.
Sooriya School of Nursing provided with well trained and qualified faculties. All our faculties are teaching with A.V.Aids (OHP, Charts). External lectures are appointed for psychology, nutrition from Sooriya Hospital. Anatomy Medical Officer, English masters are also appointed with higher qualification and experiences in their disciplines.

 Laboratories:

Nursing Practice Laboratory :                         It is equipped with 5 demonstration beds with built in cupboards, racks, washbasins with running water supply with adequate furniture like tables, chairs, electric fittings etc. Sufficient necessary inventory articles are present in the lab for practice of nursing procedures. Community Practice Laboratory: There are five community bags with full set of instruments, flash cards, flannel graph, puppet shows, spring balance, mats and health related charts. Nutritional Laboratories: Furnished and equipped with work tables, cooking stoves, gas connections / fittings, wash basins with running water supply, cutlery, trays, plates, dietic scales, cooking utensils, racks / shelves, refrigerators, pressure cooker, mixie and storage room for all provisional items.

Anatomy Laboratory:

All the bones, skeleton, models and subject related charts are provided worktables and seating chairs are well furnished and equipped.
Auditorium:
Auditorium is utilized for School of nursing function, educational conference and examinations etc., provided with proper stage with green room facilities.
Arrangements made for the use of all kinds of basic and advanced audio visual aids.

Library:

There is a separate Library in our school with proper seating arrangement for students and teachers and it has proper lighting facilities and well ventilated.  There is a sufficient number of shelves, cupboards, racks with glass doors for proper and safe storage of books, magazines, journals and newspapers. There are more than 500 books are available.                             

PRINCIPAL OFFICE:                             

There is a separate office for the Principal with attached toilet and provision for visitors room. Independent telephone facility with intercom linked to the hospital and hostel.
Office for the Viceprincipal and faculty members provided separately with toilet and handwash facility.

OFFICE ROOM:

Adequate Tables, chairs, built in racks, fitting cabinets, computers and telephones are provided in the school.

AUDIO-VISUAL AIDS ROOM :

                    
Audio visual aids available in a separate hall. Advanced training aids like chalkboards, overhead projector, slide, film-projectors, models, specimen, charts, posters, T.V & V.C.R, Photostat machine, taperecorder and computers are provided.
OTHER FACILITIES:
There are record room, store room, common room, multipurpose hall and one auditorium, Transport vehicles are available for students academic use. Playground is available for out door sports and games.

The Sooriya School of Nursing students are posted for community programme at Vadapalani health post. It is located from the school of nursing about 4km. Population is nearly 40,000 & 118 areas. It is administered by municipal corporation of Chennai.

The total cases attending per month is 300 numbers. The facilities available in the
health post are delivery room, laboratories, pharmacy, antenatal counseller, minor theatres with qualificed staff, ILR, Vaccine carriers.

The services rendered are immunization, under five clinic, school health programme, maternal & child health services, anemia control programme, communicable disease control & eradication programme.

Hostel facilities

Hostel is located in No.26, Kaveri street opposite to school of nursing. Hostel is fully furnished, rooms are ventilated and well lightened. Recreation room, visitors room & sick room are provided for the students.

Warden is appointed & supervising the students. Maintenance of registers (i.e) daily attendance, mess, daily visitors books, outgoing registers is being maintained.

Bording is provided for the students in the Sooriya hospital canteen regularly and in time. Playground provided for the students & indoor games is also available.
