Finalized authors list for writing nursing textbooks
The Indian Nursing Council has taken giant strides and revised the syllabus for all nursing programmes. As well, it is observed that there is dearth of Indian textbooks for student’s reference based on new syllabus. The foreign textbooks do not adequately represent Indian cultural and demographic scenarios. Hence, it was the felt need of Nurse Educators, Students and the council to write the nursing textbooks.
Therefore the council has taken the initiative to provide a forum for the faculty to author text book.
In deciding the finalized authors list for writing nursing textbooks, Tamil nadu Nurses and Midwives Council has arrangedScrutinizing Committee meeting. The Scrutinizing committee was headed by Dr. G.Josephine. R. Little Flower, Registrar, Tamilnadu Nurses and Midwives Council.
The scrutinizing Committee Meeting was held on 09.09.09 at the office of the Registrar, Tamil nadu Nurses and Midwives Council. The Scrutinizing Committee has scrutinize the applications sent by the various nursing faculty.
The Committee scrutinized the applications sent by the various nursing faculty and finalized the authors list. 100 Nursing faculty were selected to be authors to write 50 titles. It was also decided that they would submit the chapters allotted to them in 100 days.
